Chooch 5 or 7 Gram
5 or 7 Gram Spoon with Owners Hook
Buoyancy: Sinking
These spoons are constructed from solid metal, meaning they are Sinking lures.
Constant Descent: They have no natural buoyancy and will begin to sink toward the bottom as soon as they hit the water.
Weight Advantage: The 5g and 7g weights provide enough mass for excellent casting distance, even when using light spinning gear.
Diving Depth: Unlimited (Variable)
Like the other metal lures in your collection, these do not have a diving lip. Their depth is determined by retrieve speed and sink time.
The "Sweep": You can fish these lures at any depth from just below the surface to the very bottom.
Running Depth: At a steady, medium retrieve, the 5g version will typically run between 0.5m – 1.5m, while the 7g version will stay deeper (around 1.0m – 2.0m) due to its higher density.
Action and Specialized Use
Textured "Scale" Finish: One of the spoons in this set features a raised scale texture. This design is unique because it creates micro-vibrations in the water and breaks up light reflections more naturally than a smooth spoon, making it highly effective for "pressured" fish that have seen many other lures.
High-Contrast Pattern: The bright green/yellow "sunburst" or "splatter" pattern is designed for high visibility. This is particularly useful in slightly stained water or on overcast days when you need the lure to stand out.
Single Hook Efficiency: Rigged with a single large-gap hook, these are perfect for stream and river fishing. The single hook reduces the chance of snagging on rocks or submerged branches compared to a treble hook.
Target Species: Best for Trout, Grayling, Perch, and Chub.
